Introduction
A number of users have been attempting to use Julius to crunch, analyze, and label columns with textual data. Previously, text analysis in Julius was limited by context windows & Python library limitations — our new feature unlocks this use case. AI Column Generation enables users to utilize AI to create a new column in their data based on a given prompt. This article will guide you through using this feature.
Step 1: Load Your Data
- Load your spreadsheet or dataset into Julius and start a conversation.
Step 2: Initiating AI Column Generation
- Once it is loaded, click on "Show Data" attached to the initial message.
- Click "Generate Column with AI".
Step 3: Selecting a Column and Entering Your Prompt
- Select the column you'd like to transform, extra data from, or label.
- A prompt input bar will then appear, where you can enter in your prompt.
- Once set, hit the "Generate" button to generate a preview of the first 10 rows.
Step 4: Reviewing the AI Output
- Examine the preview with the existing column and the new AI-generated column side by side.
- If satisfied with the results, click "Looks Good". Otherwise, click on "Edit prompt" to make adjustments.
- You can also change the name of the new column in "Edit Prompt" if needed.
Step 5: Applying to All Data
- Note the warning indicating the number of rows the changes will apply to.
- Click "Apply to All" to proceed with the changes.
- For datasets with more than 10 rows, the system processes them in batches of 10 at a time.
