Julius Basics

Using Julius AI is simple. Start by uploading your data—using the paperclip icon in the Chat page to add files. We support various formats, including CSV, Excel, PDF, JSON, and even images. Once uploaded, your files become available as a data source in your workspace.From there, you can ask Julius to analyze or transform your data using natural language. For example, you might say, “Summarize this dataset,” “Create a scatter plot,” or “Run a one-way ANOVA.” Julius will process your request instantly, generating insights, visualizations, and even code to help you make data-driven decisions faster.Need more detail? Julius is an AI assistant designed for statistical analysis, data science, and computations. Julius uses various large language models, finding the best one for each task, and writes code to analyze your data based on your prompt. The end-result is an intuitive way to analyze and visualize data without having to code, making statistical analysis accessible to everyone.
After linking data source, you can analyze it with natural language prompting on the Chat page — try asking for insights or directing Julius to create a visualization. For some additional examples on how to use Julius, check out our Guides section.
Yes! Upload your multi-tab spreadsheet as you would any other file. Once uploaded, you can refer to the individual names of the tabs in your prompts, and Julius will perform analysis on those tabs accordingly.
There is no limit enforced by us, but you may find a practical limit based on what can fit into 32G of RAM on the sandbox. If you are careful to write things to files and only read what is necessary then many users have used much larger datasets than this. You can also connect Julius to BigQuery or other data warehouses if you have large datasets.

Billing and Subscriptions

Refunds are not automatically granted and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at team@julius.ai with your full name, the email address used for the purchase, your receipt number, and the reason for your request.Credits are non-refundable and have no cash value. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not carry over.For full details, view our Refund Policy.
Every action in Julius costs credits. The cost depends on what you’re doing, which AI model is used, and how complex the task is. For a full breakdown, see Understanding credits.

Security

We implement multiple layers of security to protect your data and personal information. Our strict access-control system ensures each user can only access their own data in our secure notebook file storage, with Python code execution environments individually isolated by user. When you delete data within the app, it is completely erased from our servers.Additionally, we employ automated audit logging to track all data queries, enforce strict employee access controls, and require annual privacy training for our team.You can read more about our data protection practices in our Julius Privacy Policy.
We utilize strict access-control, as each user only has access to their own data in the secure notebook file storage — even our Python code execution environments are isolated by user. Common Issues and Troubleshooting Steps:

If you’re experiencing issues with your task, we recommend creating a new task. This resets the accumulated context and can help resolve most performance or functionality-related issues.If the issue persists after creating a new task, please reach out to our support team at team@julius.ai for further assistance.
AI will sometimes do something called ‘hallucinating’ when it starts to go into loops and can’t produce an output.Try to reword the prompt to be more specific and have more detail to help guide Julius.If there have been multiple crashes, it’s best to start a new thread from scratch so the AI can refresh and restart to provide a better output.
The code can sometimes get sent to your spam email.If it’s not in your spam, send us and email at team@julius.ai.
If you’re unable to click and download files/visualizations from Julius directly, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • try refreshing the browser
  • ask Julius to reproduce the document for you
